Studies:
Vicki Chesler has been painting and drawing since her childhood on the North Shore of Long Island. Growing up with a mother who also painted outdoor landscapes in oil, she began drawing and painting as a child. She entered Connecticut College as an art major and studied there as well as at the Roslyn School of Art, C.W. Post College on Long Island, and the Woodstock School of Art (WSA) in Woodstock, New York. She spent the Spring of 2001 painting en plein air in Provence, France, and has painted watercolor landscapes in such far-flung locales as Bali, Kenya, Greece and Italy. At the WSA she has studied watercolors with Staats Fasoldt, pastels with Christine Debrosky, and oils with Mary Anna Goetz. A resident of Olivebridge, New York since 1986, she currently resides with her husband and two daughters.

Vicki Chesler’s work has appeared at the Kleinert/James Arts Center in Woodstock, the James Cox Gallery in Willow, the Woodstock Artists Association, the Inn at Stone Ridge, the Reservoir Inn in West Hurley, the Rosendale Cafe, and the Dolan Center Gallery in Locust Valley, NY.
Associations:
Vicki Chesler served on the Board of Directors of the Woodstock/Byrdcliffe Guild for six years. She created the Arts in Education Committee at the Bennett School in Boiceville where she was chairman for eight years. She re-established the Onteora High School newspaper in 2001 and oversaw that program for five years. She is currently a member of the Woodstock/Byrdcliffe Guild and the Woodstock Artists Association.
